Kevin builds around layered cane work and lets the form decide how much of it shows. On the single-section spoons the linework runs unbroken from bowl to foot, so the pattern reads as one continuous wrap. The six-piece spoons take the opposite approach — six separately worked sections joined into one pipe, each with its own treatment, so the piece changes character as it turns in the hand. The slides carry the work the full length of the body — wig wag with sculpted horn handles on one run, worked joints under swirl-faced push bowls on the other. On the cups the work moves to the base, where a bipolar reversal sits in the bottom and comes alive when you look down through the glass.
